The Creative Summer camp is aimed at young international and Italian students who want to live a unique experience in the Eternal City and study painting, design, photography, and art history, attending the study programme of one of the most prestigious Academies of Fine Arts and Communication in Rome, whilst enriching their education and curriculum.

The programme includes a combination of drawing lessons, which envision an introduction to art and gesture drawing and the composition of the human figure; painting lessons, which focus on the use of materials and painting techniques, the simplification of the image and abstract synthesis; design lessons during which the theme of sustainability is addressed and futuristic cities are designed through laboratory activities, photography lessons which will introduce students to the photography language and its techniques, to create visual projects through outdoor experiences.

During the programme guided tours will be organized to show students some of the most significant places in the city of Rome: museums, ancient and modern monuments, craft shops and street-food experiences.

ART – FROM ITALIAN BAROQUE TO INFORMAL ART
The three-day programme offers a complete immersion into the fundamental and advanced techniques of drawing and painting. Practical skills will be developed through the study of the human figure, with an exploration of Baroque Art and an experimental approach to painting, inspired by the theory of Informal Art. Each day will feature both theoretical lectures and practical workshops, culminating in the review of participants’ work.

DESIGN – DESIGN YOUR CITY
The programme aims to merge the concept of the city with the participants’ individual identities. The course provides an opportunity to create personal urban ideas by discussing how cities are perceived, how they have developed, and what defines a sustainable city. During this module, participants will collaborate to build their own futuristic city in three dimensions.

PHOTOGRAPHY – A DIGITAL PORTFOLIO OF YOUR ROME
The workshop is designed to introduce students to the language of photography and audiovisual storytelling, focusing on its essential elements. Key topics include light management, composition of forms, the meaning of content, and storytelling techniques through imagery. The course combines theoretical lectures in the classroom with practical outdoor activities. By the end of the program, participants will have the chance to create a digital portfolio featuring the photographs taken during the workshop.

HISTORY OF ART, DESIGN AND ITALIAN STYLE
Through a series of experiential visits to the city of Rome, students will explore the treasures of the Eternal City while focusing on history of art, local craft shops and ateliers, Italian food and modern art.
Materials: RUFA will cover the costs of the tickets of the museums selected for the history of art, design and Italian style course.
