On May 14th, RUFA will host the special event *YOU IN MIND*, featuring the volunteer psychiatrists from the *Itaca project*. This event, part of the new #MindfulRUFA workshop and event cycle, is designed to offer students an opportunity for discussion and growth, promoting inclusivity, psychological well-being, and freedom of expression in a safe and welcoming environment.
May 14th – 10:00 AM – Aula Magna at Via Taro 14 | RUFA campus in the Trieste district.
The talk will be held in Italian. Open to the entire RUFA community.
During the event, volunteer psychiatrists from the Itaca project will participate, along with Francesco Pisani, Associate Professor of Child Neuropsychiatry at the University of Parma. The meeting, moderated by René Angeramo, Psychologist-Psychotherapist and Head of Counseling and Guidance at RUFA, will be a unique opportunity to reflect together on mental health and prevention-related issues.
RUFA students are invited to actively participate, asking questions to the experts in an open and free dialogue. During the event, crucial topics will be addressed, such as the importance of a qualified and permanent psychological support within an Academy of Fine Arts, as well as the urgency of countering the stigma against psychologists and psychiatrists through clear and scientific communication. The discussion will also focus on the need to consult only qualified professionals, such as psychiatrists and psychotherapists, highlighting the risks associated with the abusive practice of these professions.
The psychiatrists from the Itaca project will delve into the factors influencing mental health and the differences between various professional figures in the field, providing an overview of common disorders, supported by video testimonies and treatment principles. They will also offer valuable information on how to recognize early signs of mental distress in individuals.
Don’t miss this opportunity for growth and awareness. Join us and make your voice heard in an event that aims to be a starting point for greater understanding and psychological support within our academy.
