Talk with Alessandro Borghi: “The Actor’s Craft”

With the start of the new academic year, the RUFA Talks are back, offering our students the chance to connect with leading figures from the artistic and cultural scene. This second event of the 2024 edition features Alessandro Borghi, one of the most acclaimed and versatile Italian actors, known for his ability to completely transform himself for each role, both physically and emotionally.

A journey into the craft of acting: from character to set

During the talk, Alessandro Borghi shared his experience in tackling the challenges of character development, a hallmark of his career. Through meticulous preparation, Borghi has mastered the art of shaping his physical and psychological traits to embody unforgettable roles in films like Sulla mia pelle and Suburra, as well as achieving international acclaim with The Eight Mountains.

The talk will provide insights into the behind-the-scenes work of an actor: from collaboration with directors and makeup artists to building a synergistic relationship on set. In particular, the session focused on the importance of dialogue between actors and emerging directors, a theme central to the Q&A session between Borghi and RUFA students.
