RUFA is pleased to host the talk “How art can change the world”, with special guest Simon Butler, founder of Migrate Art. The event, curated by professors Beatrice and Flaminia Bulla, will explore the power of art as a tool for social change and solidarity.
When: Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Aula Magna – Via Taro, 14.
The talk will be held in English.
Simon Butler is a curator and cultural entrepreneur who has dedicated his career to demonstrating how art can be a powerful tool for social change. After working with some of London’s most important galleries, including Newport Street Gallery by Damien Hirst and Lazarides Gallery, in 2016, he founded Migrate Art, a project that combines creativity and activism to support humanitarian causes worldwide.
Through collaborations with internationally renowned artists such as Anish Kapoor, Antony Gormley, Rachel Whiteread, and Shepard Fairey, Butler has raised over £2 million to fund projects supporting vulnerable communities in Europe, the Middle East, and South America. His work has received extensive media coverage from outlets such as CNN, TIME Magazine, The Financial Times, and The Art Newspaper, leading him to participate in conferences at the House of Lords and become a member of the prestigious RSA (Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce).
During the talk, Butler will share his experience and show how art can be a concrete tool for building a fairer and more supportive world.
Registration for the talk opens on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
