RUFA is proud to present ÉCLAT, the solo exhibition by Arianna Pompeo, curated by Beatrice Ciotoli and Irene Iodice. The artist was selected through RUFA’s *call for application*, aimed at showcasing the most innovative exhibition projects by the Academy’s students.

In her paintings, Arianna Pompeo offers a visual journey that evokes a silent narrative, inviting the viewer to imagine and reconstruct a broader context from glimpses of reality.
Each brushstroke transforms into a gesture that creates spaces where figuration dissolves without ever completely disappearing. Drawing from real elements and referencing historical, poetic, and mythological sources, Arianna Pompeo explores the connection between the body, nature, and the animal world, questioning the boundary between rationality and instinct.
Her artistic language takes shape in a vibrant dialogue between gesture and color, where the dynamism of her brushstrokes and the intensity of color become expressive tools to delve into intimate and universal themes.

THE ARTIST

Born in Rome in 2004 with Italo-Dutch origins, Arianna Pompeo completed her studies at the Sant’Orsola Art High School in 2023. She then began her international three-year Painting diploma at RUFA. Between 2023 and 2024, she undertook an important internship with artist Luca Grechi, an experience that gave her the opportunity to actively contribute to the group exhibition Tre Lavori di Nicchia, presented at John Cabot University.

THE CURATORS

Graduates in Art History, Beatrice Ciotoli and Irene Iodice completed a Master’s degree in Art Education and Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Sharing the same curatorial vision, they founded a duo in 2022, focusing their research on the relational aspects of art and site-specificity, fostering interactive engagement between artists and audiences. Within Rome’s artistic ecosystem, they collaborate with various independent entities, including Spazio Y – Off1c1na and CONDOTTO48, while continuing to develop personal projects as freelancers.
