“Der Engel” – Talk with photographer Iacopo Pasqui

With the start of the new academic year, the RUFA Talks are back. Kicking off this year’s series of events will be Iacopo Pasqui, author and photographer specialized in Fine Art and documentary photography.

Join us on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Aula Magna (G13) at the RUFA campus on Via Giuseppe Libetta, 7.

“Der Engel” is the latest book by photographer Iacopo Pasqui, created after winning the MiC’s “Italian Council” grant. The volume focuses on work created during an artist residency in Poland between 2018 and 2021 and draws inspiration from the film “Wings of Desire” by German director Wim Wenders. Invited by the Fundacja Edukacji Wizualnej and the organizers of Fotofestiwal, the author depicts the city of Lodz with particular attention to its contemporary cultural and social history.
The talk will delve into the dynamics involved in creating a photographic book and the relationship between visual storytelling and modes of engagement.
Photographs from the installation created for the exhibition of the entire project will be shown, along with a video related to the second part of the work, not included in the photo book.
