Double Exhibition of visual Arts. Artists: Antifigure e Luca Di Gregorio.

In “Costruzioni Per”, Antifigure and Luca Di Gregorio develop a composite space in which their paintings reflect on the concept of construction site. A physical place but even before mental. From this they borrow both construction materials such as tiles, plasterboard and silicone, and the very idea of building.
What makes the artists’ works talk to each other is not so much a visual proximity, nor the use of common materials, but an approach to painting that involves a certain processuality and does not aim exclusively at a final result. The space of the exhibition thus becomes a limbo, an indefinite glimmer in the process of being defined, suspended between the nothingness that precedes the action and the finished object that sanctions its conclusion.
The artists reflect on the role of the pictorial image in an era saturated with non-pictorial images, proposing two diametrically opposed visions. Antifigure moves in search of a contamination between these two worlds, while Luca follows the road towards a painting in which the subject is only a pretext and the very surface of the canvas delineates the limit beyond which we cannot investigate.
