In the works presented at COSMOSI Vol. II, a project conceived by Simone Cametti and now in its second year, the six selected artists bet on the site-specific, tuning their individual interventions to the particular connotations of the COSMO exhibition space and realising an overall operation with a marked environmental and installation vocation. While not adhering to a specific agenda, eschewing overall visions and eschewing thematic orderings, the project seems to be oriented, in each of the individual proposals, in the direction of a fruitful synaesthesia capable of activating stimuli of various kinds and extending the space of fruition as far as the distant regions of the imagination.
The exhibition is thus configured as a total environment, a composite and malleable palimpsest of multiple suggestions (tactile, acoustic and visual), ready to concede itself to an audience willing to take up the challenge. The small world created by the artists thus calls upon the observer’s entire sensory apparatus, summoned to test his or her perceptual system, to trust it and not to trust it, to sound out, from time to time, new hypotheses of signification, new narratives, and to test their logical resistance.
