On Monday 27 March at 6 p.m., the film “BORN JUST NOW” by Robert Adanto will be screened at RUFA. The documentary offers an intimate look at the life of artist Marta Jovanović, struggling to cope with the violence that has ended an eight-year marriage.
The director and the protagonist of the documentary will be in the hall for a Q&A with the audience.
Daring to live on her own terms, Jovanović has chosen art and art-making over marriage and abuse.
Through provocative acts of endurance exploring intimacy, motherhood and the trauma of the Balkan wars, she seeks to confront, release, and liberate her own pain in the name of art. This personal portrait is a moving reflection on what it means to be a fearless female artist living in the 21st century.
