Born in Florence in 1984, graduated from DAMS at the University of Bologna, and from the two-year master’s degree Officinema – La bottega dei mestieri organized by the Cineteca di Bologna. In 2010 he wrote and directed the short film “Storia di Nessuno”, that received numerous international awards. Winner of the Young Italian Filmmaker Award in 2013, organized by the Italian Institute of Culture in New York and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2011 to 2013 he writes and directs “Centoquaranta, La strage dimenticata”, a documentary about the massacre of the Moby Prince: previewed at the 54th Festival dei Popoli, it won first prize at the 32nd Bellaria Film Festival and the Silver Lily at the 65th Cinema Fedic, it was a finalist at the 20th edition of the Ilaria Alpi award and it eventually landed on prime-time TV on LA7. In 2014 he directed the documentary “Il Paese Perduto”, an idea of Ernesto Galli della Loggia, produced by Madeleine with Rai Cinema and Istituto Luce. In 2018 he wrote and directed his first theater movie “Tutte Le Mie Notti” produced by Mompracem with Rai Cinema. Premiered at Rome’s Cinema Festival, it was released in theaters in March 2019. The movie obtained several awards, included the Silver Ribbon to Benedetta Porcaroli as a revelation actress. In 2020 he directs the documentary “Borromini” for Arte, RSI and RAI.
