Luigi Pierantoni a graphic designer and a professional journalist.
Graduated from the European Institute of Design of Rome in 1992, after an internship at an advertising agency, he began his career as a freelancer, handling the graphics for the Goethe Institut Rome and simultaneously working on numerous events sponsored by the Municipality of Rome, Casa di Goethe, and Casa delle Letterature di Roma.
In 2000, he designed the branding and various editorial publications for the newly founded Ugo la Malfa Institute (now a foundation). During the same period, he created printed materials and campaign logos for the Republican Party.
His introduction to the world of newspaper happened by chance when he started collaborating with the graphic department of the Il Messaggero newspaper in Rome, where he created infographics and event reconstructions. He was captivated by the atmosphere within the newspaper’s editorial office, where the balance between typographic elements and images effectively communicated news to a mass audience.
In 2001, he moved to Naples and worked at the Il Mattino newspaper, redefining rules and styles of infographics and handling the restyling of weekly supplements. In 2004, upon returning to Rome, he started working for la Repubblica in the newspaper’s graphic department, later moving to editorial team of Robinson, the cultural weekly supplement.
During this time, he also managed the weekly insert Rsalute. Currently, he is a department head at la Repubblica, responsible for the TOFM (The Official Ferrari Magazine) and the graphics of special editorial initiatives for the newspaper. He is a Senior Professional Member of AIAP (Associazione Italiana Design Della Comunicazione Visiva – (Italian Association of Visual Communication Design).
