Jacopo Tomassini

Lecturer of the module Photography in Cinema in the RUFA x Leica Akademie advanced training course: Immagine fotografica per il cinema e i nuovi media.

 
1979, Rome. He lives and works between Rome and Modena. He has alternated and pursued over the years both his passion for photography and cinema.
He graduated in film history and criticism at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with a monographic thesis on Aki Kaurismaki. He began taking photographs during his adolescence and continued by attending b/w printmaking courses held by Andrea Calabresi.
He has been assistant to artists Corrado Sassi and Angela Marzullo. He has exhibited his photographic works in several group exhibitions including: Festival Misticanza, 2010, San Casciano dei Bagni; Fotografia Festival Internazionale di Roma, Circuito, “Service”; “E così ci ritrovammo all’alba nel porto di le Havre”, VertigoArte Cosenza, collective exhibition. In cinema he has been assistant director, assistant director and filmmaker working with: Valeria Golino, Edoardo Winspeare, Vincenzo Marra, Alessandro Angelini and Claudio Noce. He has made several short films and documentaries, including ‘Sister Greta and Family’.
