Lorenzo Cappella was born in Ancona in 1999. In 2018, he graduated from the Liceo Artistico E. Mannucci high school in Ancona in the Audiovisual and Multimedia address. Since 2018 he has been living and working in Rome. In 2022 he obtained his Level I academic diploma in Painting at RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, and since the same year he has been enrolled in the Level II academic course in Fine Arts – Painting. His research is based on the idea of painting as a tool for breaking the surface of things in favour of deep investigation. His many professional experiences include working as a painting and drawing teacher at Cielo Terra Vertecchi, as a workshop assistant at Studio Fabio Mauri, and as a gallery technician at Lorcan O’Neill Gallery. Since 2022 he has been part of the MAGTRE collective, based in Rome, where he organises events and experimental exhibitions, and since 2020 he has been collaborating with KH Lab in the organisation, research and logistics of events and exhibitions.
