Linking the works in Cosmosi Vol. 1, the result of the work that each artist has done specifically for this project, is the sound dimension.
In its ephemeral, intangible and invisible quality, treating sound in aesthetic terms may feel, at first impression, like a vain undertaking. However, precisely this intangible condition makes it a ‘material’ with highly ductile properties, capable of opening up and adapting to a multiplicity of creative circumstances.
Indeed, in the exhibition, the category of sound is elaborated through numerous operational avenues, ranging from installation, sculpture and video, passing through material experimentation and the hybridisation of conventionally diverse techniques.
The result is an exhibition dictate evidently conjugated in the plural, punctuated by works that, in a more or less overt manner, incorporate sound now as the subject of its own narrative, now as a collateral effect of works that often bring about changes of state, ending in the return of the instability and transcendence of its nature.
