Officially open is the 14th MATTADOR International Screenplay Award dedicated to Matteo Caenazzo and aimed at young Italian and foreign authors aged 16 to 30.
The Award, conceived and promoted by the MATTADOR Cultural Association, was created with the intention of bringing out and enhancing new talents who choose to approach a professional and artistic career in the field of film writing. Over the years, the Prize has achieved a consolidated reliability that has made it a point of reference in the film industry and for production companies in search of young authors. This is confirmed by the results achieved by the winners of the various editions who have established themselves in the field of screenwriting.
Among the four sections of the 2022/2023 Award, we particularly highlight DOLLY “Illustrare il cinema” dedicated to the best story told in pictures. The DOLLY Award is even more in search of future authors who spontaneously use images instead of words to describe their stories, with an invitation to follow the famous screenplay rule known as “show, don’t tell”.
The DOLLY winner, awarded with a training grant, is accompanied by professional tutors on a story development path, customised according to the nature of his or her idea, with the elaboration of a complete dossier presenting a film or animation project. At the end of the training course, depending on the result of the placement, you may be assigned an additional prize of 1,000 euros.
