There are infinite things I don’t know, I don’t understand, photographing is an attempt to understand my surroundings, a search for a foothold, a way not to sink into oblivion.
I am interested in nature, abandonment, loneliness, small communities, relating to the past as a fundamental common line, I am very interested in photographing people in the place where they were born and grew up, the influence it had.
I like to start from a ‘real’ datum, a statistic, a legend, a tradition, using documentary language, and then play with the limits that documentation has, digress metaphorically, make people feel, work on small details, on silence.
Investigating the mystery of the other, trying to understand something about myself.
