For the first time in Italy, from 28 to 30 April at the Cinema Farnese in Rome, the TEATROTEKA festival: a dialogue between cinema and theatre that brings together young playwrights and debutant directors
RUFA and the TEATROTEKA project in Rome join forces to foster cooperation between Italy and Poland in the development of the creative industries, and to strengthen the film and performing arts sectors.
From the curtain to the big screen, a review of performances born from the dialogue between cinema and theatre, in a space of hybridisation and free creation, guided by the search for a new language. Young directors, playwrights and artists – supported in some cases by the best Polish actors and filmmakers and with the help of the best technology provided by the WFDIF Film Studios in Warsaw – transform contemporary Polish dramaturgy into film, guided by the criteria of stylistic and narrative experimentation, originality, congruence of ethical and aesthetic values.
Active in its homeland for 9 years, TEATROTEKA is now coming to Italy for the first time, presented at the Farnese Arthouse cinema in Rome from 28 to 30 April. Three days with free admission dedicated to a selection of eleven screenings; meetings and debates with authors and directors.
Conceived and realised by the WFDiF Film Studios in Warsaw, the oldest and most legendary film studios in Poland, the Roman event is organised in collaboration with the Polish Institute in Rome, RUFA, SEAI Department – Sapienza University of Rome and Cinema Farnese, and financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland. Media partners of the festival are Teatro e Critica and Quinlan.
TEATROTEKA is an original Polish format created by the WFDiF Film Studios in Warsaw, a legendary institution for Polish cinematography for over 70 years, where directors such as Andrzej Munk, Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Marcel Łoziński or Krzysztof Zanussi, who is currently shooting his new film at WFDiF.
