Our approach to art is varied, we observe it from all angles, each one opening up a world full of questions and unresolved issues: art enriches our inner world and feeds our knowledge. Developing consciousness through the encounter with culture: this is the fundamental idea behind this exhibition. What emotions do you feel about the image you are contemplating? We try to understand it, and at the same time understand ourselves through it.
Saadat Sher-Niiaz, alias Jetighen, grew up in the mountainous Kyrgyzstan. Her childhood is accompanied by the incredible stories of Manas, the great warrior who succeeded in bringing together 40 tribes and protect his people from the threat of external enemies. Manas’ courage has always been a source of inspiration for the artist, who in this project has chosen to convey his legendary stories to the viewers.
The iconic images of Kyrgyz culture, together with the works of the great protagonists of the Renaissance, such as Leonardo Da Vinci.
The cultural references of the Kyrgyz people are accompanied by revisitations of immortal works of Western culture: works that the young artist came into contact with in later life, and which have profoundly inspired her artistic research. The aim of the exhibition is to make observers acquire a new awareness of their own life path: it does not matter which country they are at the moment, or what their cultural background is. Each individual is peculiar and unique, art alone unites everyone indistinctly.
