On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at LCA Studio Legale in Via della Moscova, 18 – Milan, the exhibition “La posizione in cui dormono le api. Scarti e altri sguardi” (The position where bees sleep. Scraps and other looks), born from the collaboration of the Art department and the Sustainability committee of the Studio with RUFA and the innovative startup Beeopak, will be presented.
Using cutouts provided by Beeopak of eco-friendly, reusable food-grade film made from organic cotton fabric soaked in a 100% natural blend of organic beeswax, students from RUFA School of Visual Arts worked on pieces that were the result of their in-depth research and experimentation in wax processing. LCA has collected these works in a selection now on display in its offices, which will be presented by the students themselves on Wednesday, October 6 starting at 6 pm.
The event will begin at 5 pm with the talk “Reduce, Recycle, Reuse: circular economy and sustainable art”, to discuss some crucial issues related to sustainability, and how art can contribute to this discourse (and this project is a concrete demonstration of this).
With an introduction by Maria Grazia Longoni Palmigiano, the talk will begin with speeches by Dario Covucci, Alessia Placchi for the Sustainability Committee and Miriam Loro Piana for the Art team of LCA Studio Legale, followed by Professor Emiliano Coletta, coordinator of RUFA School of Visual Arts, who will talk about the research path experimented with the students in the creation of the works, and Clara van de Coevering (Beeopak) who will talk about the history and mission of the startup.
The event will be held in compliance with anti-Covid regulations. The guests, after the seminar, will be able to visit the exhibition on display inside the studio in small groups to avoid gatherings in closed environments.
