The competition for the creation of the logo for the candidacy of Saluzzo and Terre del Monviso as Italian Capital of Culture 2024 is reserved for creatives under 28 years of age.
The logo – symbol/logotype to which a payoff must be added – must express and represent in a simple, direct and immediate way the fundamental elements of the strategic vision of the candidacy and at the same time communicate the vast territory of the Occitan valleys and the lands of Monviso. Saluzzo is the first alpine territory to be nominated as Italian Capital of Culture 2024.
The logo must contribute to creating a visual identity representative of the entire territory, enhancing the important environmental, cultural, productive heritage and highlighting at the same time the innovative and laboratory character brought by the candidacy process. Participation is free of charge and reserved exclusively for those under 28 (single or in groups of individuals under 28). Each participant will be able to send only one project proposal representing the logotype both in color and in black and white, a version accompanied by the payoff and some applications and / or visualizations (maximum 6, format .jpg or .pdf) in different contexts and situations that enhance the quality and understand the systemic dimension. Each project, accompanied by a file (.doc) of one folder (max 2,500 characters, spaces included) with the description of the work and the project path, must be sent, exclusively by e-mail, to protocollo@pec.comune.saluzzo.cn.it no later than 12 noon on Monday, February 15, 2021. The subject of the email must be “LOGO Candidature Saluzzo and Terres del Monviso as Italian Capital of Culture 2024”.
The proposals received will be evaluated by a technical jury composed of 5 experts from the world of academia, design and cultural management, whose judgment will be final. Six elements of evaluation: originality, memorability and recognizability, consistency, appropriateness, simplicity, ductility. The winner will receive a cash prize of over 2 thousand euros gross.
