The Foodicons International Competition is an international crowdsourcing competition that invites designers to develop a shared, open source, royalty-free iconographic language related to food, which will be shown at the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit. The competition is supported by The Lexicon, Adobe, The Noun Project and AIGA as well as Cumulus, the international association of the best Universities and Academies of design and art in the world and of which RUFA is a full member.
Using a guide developed specifically by Adobe for the challenge, designers are invited to submit icon designs for hundreds of terms selected by Foodicons’ international committee of experts. The Foodicons Challenge will develop a visual language that represents over 500 concepts to explain our food system through a series of monthly challenges that will involve participants.
