On the occasion of the next edition of “Artissima”, the well-known car brand Jaguar has created an innovative artistic project born from the common desire to support young emerging artists.
To be involved: 10 Italian cities, 10 contemporary art galleries, 10 Fine Arts Academies, 10 artists and 10 Jaguar dealerships that, together, will be the protagonists of an exhibition program that will end with the 2020 edition of “Artissima” in Turin.
“JaguArt”, this is the name of the project, is configured as a real “road show” in major Italian cities in search of new emerging talent in the field of visual arts. The 10 cities have been selected on the basis of the offer of contemporary art they can guarantee.
The 10 galleries represent the “godmothers” of the project and will decide the winner of their respective stages, hosting Ilaria Bonacossa, Director of Artissima and other leading exponents of contemporary Italian culture. The 10 Academies will play the role of mediators for the dissemination of the project, involving the most deserving students.
The 10 determined artists, the beating heart of the project, will have the opportunity to show and explain their research to a selected audience, in very unusual contexts. The 10 Jaguar brand dealerships will be transformed into unexpected locations for the art world, so as to establish virtuous and not trivial synergies. The winners of all 10 will present their works during “Artissima 2020”.
Obviously the city of Rome is an integral part of this path and RUFA students can present their ideas. There will be 5 young artists selected in the capital, among those who will participate in the call, who will be able to present their work at the Jaguar dealership in Rome “Englandstar”, Via Flaminia 1113, next September 17th.
The call is open to students or former students, aged 30 years or less, who attend the public and private Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Registration must be submitted by sending the required documentation to jaguart@artissima.it no later than the deadline of September 5th included.
The documentation required for participation includes: curriculum vitae, portfolio in pdf format with a maximum of 10 pages, short text explaining the interest in the project (maximum one folder), photos and brief description of the proposed work including the title, year of creation, materials, measurements and meaning (maximum one folder).
The selected artists will be asked to confirm their participation by Wednesday 9th September. The artists will have to bear the costs of production and transport, also taking care of assembly and disassembly.
