Announcement

“Francesco Fabbri” Award, the ninth edition dedicated to emerging art and contemporary photography is now underway.

The ninth edition of the “Francesco Fabbri” prize, an event that aims to be a point of reference for operators and the public who turn their attention to research in contemporary art, opened last June 1. The Fondazione Fabbri, aware of the serious crisis in the cultural system following the Covid-19 pandemic, and in particular the plight of art workers, has decided to make registration for the 2020 edition of the event totally free.

The Prize is divided into two sections: “Emerging Art” and “Contemporary Photography”. The first is dedicated to authors under 35 who, according to an intermediate logic, will be able to participate with every visual creative form: from painting to installation, from photography to video art, from performance and sound art to drawing and graphics. The second section, instead, is dedicated to photography through a variety of conceptions of the specific medium. Authors from every country in the world can participate in both sections.

The call will remain open until next September 4th. Artists can register via web or by ordinary mail. The two winners will receive a prize of 5 thousand euros each and their works will enter the Foundation’s permanent collection and will be kept in the Casa Fabbri residential centre. The prize, curated by Carlo Sala, enjoys a prestigious jury composed of critics and curators such as Lorenzo Balbi, Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti, Daniele De Luigi, Angel Moya Garcia, Francesca Lazzarini, Giangavino Pazzola, Stefano Raimondi and Mauro Zanchi. The finalist works will be exhibited at Villa Brandolini in Pieve di Soligo (Tv) from November 21 to December 20, 2020; during the vernissage the winners will be announced in the presence of the operators, the press and the public.
