The call for the eleventh edition of the international award for the screenplay “MATTADOR” is now open. It is dedicated to Matteo Caenazzo, a young man from Trieste who graduated in painting decoration and died prematurely in 2009.
The award is aimed at Italian and foreign authors aged 16 to 30 years, with the aim of bringing out and enhancing new talent, facilitating the exchange with professionals and contact with the business reality.
Among the four categories of the prize, a special mention goes to the section “DOLLY Illustrare il cinema”, dedicated to young authors able to create, through an idea, images that tell a story, that combines the graphic world to the narrative. The winner of DOLLY, who has been awarded a training grant, is accompanied by professional tutors on a personalized development of his or her own story, with the preparation of a dossier presenting a film or animation project. At the end of the training, the tutors can award an additional prize of one thousand euros.
The winners will also be able to attend masterclasses, lectures and conferences dedicated to screenwriting and other cinema themes.

The deadline for submitting entries is 15 April 2020. There is no registration fee. The award ceremony will take place on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Venice in the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice.
