StreeT-shirt Experience is an exhibition, curated by Claudio Spuri, that recounts the unique experience of the T-Wall created for Miteeca Festival on October 10, 2015 within “Italianism” during the Outdoor Festival. In this case the exhibition is hosted at RUFA Space, in via degli Ausoni 7, in the heart of the San Lorenzo district. The inauguration is scheduled for December 6th at 6 pm.
The organization sees the interaction not only between RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, which confirms its interest in artistic and social dynamics, but also Miteeca, creator and organizer of the T-Wall and, of course, Solo, international artist active in the dissemination of street art and author of the T-Wall.
A wall covered with 31 white t-shirts, a passionate kiss between Diabolik and Eva Kant, an artist struggling with an unusual surface and, finally, an event dedicated to the world of t-shirts. So in October 2015 an idea by Claudio Spuri, RUFA lecturer in Graphic design, and Viviana Boccardi, was created together with the artist Solo th first T-Wall of Miteeca, an interdisciplinary experience between street art and clothing.
Street art and T-shirts have a lot in common: they are, in the field of expression and communication, immediate vehicles, alternative, underground and constantly evolving. They are the mirror of contemporaneity, in a precarious balance between acceptance and rejection of the market.
There is a constant increase in the number of designers who have asked, and continue to ask, for the collaboration of various street artists to create original fashion collections in limited editions. Miteeca, in the promotion and production, and Solo, in the realization, wanted to celebrate this meeting by ensuring that street art and t-shirts returned to share a common space, in a new form and managing to maintain their strong and multiple specificities of content and container of experiences.
At RUFA Space will be exhibited the 31 T-shirts that made up the original 8 square meters of the T-Wall. Together with them will be shown the images of that event and, in particular, the videos of the installation and the entire performance of Solo.
The opening will include not only a presentation of the initiative by the organizers and the author, but also a talk, dedicated to RUFA students, with Solo who will tell his story, showing his activity around the walls of the world. The event is part of the program #OfficineRufa.
The exhibition will be open until December 12.
