A story born almost in symbiosis, a few months apart. RUFA and MAXXI not only share an immeasurable love for contemporary art, but also a parallel destiny that has its roots in the late 1990s. In 1998 the Academy of Fine Arts started its educational activities, beginning the path that has now allowed it to be one of the most accredited cultural institutions in Italy and in the world. But the memory of one of the Capital’s most important museums also began at the same time: in the autumn of 1997, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage obtained from the Ministry of Defence the transfer of a large area in the Flaminio district of Rome, with the aim of creating a new national museum centre dedicated to contemporary arts, for the design of which, in 1998, an international competition was announced. A common path, therefore, which, although from different points of view, has allowed to combine the different aspects of training.
In order to really get in touch with this sort of “twin brother”, RUFA and MAXXI have, for some time, signed an agreement that allows RUFA students to visit the exhibitions scheduled at the Museum, relying on very substantial special and discount services.
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, from 11 am to 7 pm, the advantages for RUFA community will be even more evident. To better appreciate these opportunities, all you need to do is to present any document at the MAXXI information desk that certifies your connection to RUFA (card, badge or booklet) and live a unique and enveloping cognitive experience. On the MAXXI website it is possible to consult all the current exhibitions.
