To the first classified a prize of 2 thousand euros.
Olivetti promotes the third edition of Olivetti Design Contest, the industrial design initiative for students of some of the most prestigious Italian and European institutions, including Rufa. Following the success of the previous editions, the Olivetti Design Contest renews in 2018 the tradition of great attention to design that for over a century Olivetti has combined with innovation and experimentation, in the conviction that beauty is a fundamental driver for industry as well. The wide centrality given to young people and the important experiences of collaboration in the field of industrial design are testimony to this, as well as the precious contribution made over the years by artists and designers.
The contest aims to reward projects that will offer an original contribution to the creation of a smart chair and/or a fiscal printer.
The jury will evaluate considering the conceptual elements of the submitted work, the quality of the realization, the opportunity to develop the project in commercial terms and also according to the coherence with the system of values that have always distinguished Olivetti: customer orientation, innovation, experience, excellence and proactivity.
The three winning projects for each of the two themes in the call for proposals will receive a cash prize of € 2,000.00 for the first prize, € 1,500.00 for the second prize and € 1,000.00 for the third prize.
The visual of the contest keeps as central subject the egg with its perfection. Dedicated to the theme of the smart chair, the poster traces a tangle of colored lines that, vibrating, celebrate the silhouettes used over the years in ergonomic studies for the design of chairs. The lettering, instead, recounts the reality of the fiscal printer, and can be read either in the Western alphabet or with a barcode reader.
