RUFA is pleased to announce a new event in the Talk format: on this occasion, we will host Sophie Seiler, Senior Business Development Manager at FREITAG, for a meeting titled “Circularity @ FREITAG”.
Date: Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 10:30 AM in Aula Magna (G13) at the RUFA campus, Via Giuseppe Libetta, 7. The talk will be held in Italian.
The talk, curated by RUFA professor Stefano Cipolla, a graphic designer and journalist, will explore the history and philosophy of the Swiss company FREITAG. Founded in 1993 by brothers Daniel and Markus Freitag, the company revolutionized the world of accessories by creating bags and backpacks from used truck tarps, bicycle inner tubes, and seat belts, combining eco-friendly recycling with personalized fashion.
Over the years, FREITAG has expanded its product range to include around 60 different models, all made from recycled materials. The company is known for its commitment to the circular economy, developing products such as the compostable clothing line F-ABRIC and the Mono [PA6] backpack, the first to be entirely recyclable.
Who is Sophie Seiler?
Born in Berlin to a Franco-German family, Sophie Seiler grew up in Rome, where she completed her schooling. After high school, she decided to study abroad in Switzerland but later completed her academic journey in Rome, graduating in Business and Management from LUISS. Her professional career began with some experiences in Germany before she moved to Switzerland to work for FREITAG. There, she held the role of Ambassador and Business Development Manager for the Italian market. With nearly 15 years of experience in this position, Sophie has played a crucial role in establishing the brand in Italy, becoming a key figure in business development in the country.
