RUFA and HNNU: An International Partnership for the Future of Interior Design

RUFA strengthens its international partnership with Hainan Normal University: Director Fabio Mongelli welcomed in China for an official ceremony.

RUFA continues to consolidate its international vocation by strengthening its relationship with Hainan Normal University (HNNU), a prestigious Chinese institution. Director Fabio Mongelli, accompanied by Andrea Tosi, Head of the International Department of the Plena Group, took part in a significant welcoming ceremony organized by HNNU, symbolically celebrating the partnership between the two universities. During the event, a commemorative plaque featuring the names of RUFA and HNNU was unveiled, emphasizing the importance of this collaboration based on intercultural dialogue and mutual openness.

The ceremony coincided with the visit of Italian President Sergio Mattarella to China, an occasion during which the President reiterated the importance of maintaining vibrant and strong relations between Italy and China. His words resonated with this academic encounter, further inspiring joint projects that look to the future with confidence and ambition.

HNNU, with over 23,000 students and 5 doctoral programmes, is a key educational institution in the Hainan province. Its Faculty of Design is collaborating with RUFA on the development of a dual-degree programme in Design, demonstrating a commitment to creating common ground for shared educational paths. School of Fine Art of HNNU is a hub for nurturing artistic talent, perfectly aligning with RUFA’s innovative and cosmopolitan approach.

This partnership extends beyond academic collaboration, aiming to open new opportunities for cultural and educational exchange programmes for students and faculty. The goal is to enrich the process of learning art through the interaction of diverse cultural identities. In the future, new master’s programmes and expanded joint activities are planned to build a shared educational vision while respecting the distinct cultural specificities of both institutions.

RUFA, true to its mission, reaffirms its international nature and desire to embrace the world, fostering dialogues that transcend geographical and linguistic boundaries to create art that speaks to everyone.
