Alberto Gelpi

Born in 1978, after studying photography and graphic design, he began working in post-production for special effects in commercials and films in the mid-1990s. Discovering a passion for editing, he worked as an assistant before becoming a video editor. His transition to directing came in 2008, starting with commercials and later moving into cinema.
Over the years, he has directed campaigns for major brands and institutions, earning awards at festivals such as Cannes, Barcelona, and Shanghai. He has written and directed several documentaries, including Origini, a story about migration between Italy and Scotland, as well as various cultural and nature projects (Rai2).
In 2018, he directed the thriller “Shadow of the Wolf”, distributed in Italy (Draka) and the US (Lionsgate), featuring Christopher Lambert.
In 2019, he directed “A Second Chance”, a young adult film based on a true story, awarded at Giffoni Experience2019, where he also contributed to the screenplay.
