Acting Tools and Techniques for the 21st Century
The goal of the course is to prepare participants for the first professional step in acting, laying the foundation for those who wish to learn and master acting techniques – and the consequent ability to direct acting – for cinema, television fiction, and emerging fields (web and new social media), where acting, body language, and dialogue control have become essential.
Participants will follow a curriculum that includes character study, techniques for character development, scene reading for audition preparation, improvisation exercises, techniques and tips for effective video presentations and self-tapes, initial steps in preparing personal material, and how to search for acting agencies. Each lesson combines both theoretical and practical components, with exercises focusing on body use and acting techniques.
The course is designed for students and adults passionate about cinema and acting, as well as young or adult professionals looking to acquire and improve a wide range of cross-disciplinary skills related to on-camera presence, from public speaking to video presentations/performances.
