Friday 16 June Cosmo presents the third volume of COSMOSI – project conceived by the artist Simone Cametti – exhibiting the site-specific works of RUFA Visual Arts students.

The artists Giorgia Papucci, Gaia Maria Rampello and Nonno Burro, in an orchestrated tri-personal exhibition space, compose Audiovisual installations where sound, gesture, iconicity, sacralisation, communicative dyscrasia, obsessive reiteration and media seriality. They disorient the gaze, leading it through contrapuntal accents, hyperbolic forms and figural attestations that convey the media boundaries of language and collective imaginal thought, reshaping them in the vision, fragmentation and contradiction of an interpretative, symbolic-substitutive, cultural-emotional code.
Nonno Burro in a biting and ironically objective pictorial language, transports the observer to nuptial and baptismal celebrations, social festivities composed in a traditional aesthetic recalling the disruptiveness and recklessness of the Italian 1980s, while in the installation Verde Merito stages, through an iconic morphology, the sacralisation of a television character, involving the viewer in a devotional ceremonial that metaphorically and symbolically marks a mythical axiom.
Giorgia Papucci and Gaia Maria Rampello present as a collective G.M.R.G.P. the OVERTURE ensemble concept, concerted in the individual works relating to the artists’ research: in Hypotheses for Input Giorgia Papucci, between daily gesture and collective celebration, transposes public and private spheres, choral action and ritual of consumption, in an oxymoronic visual and sound correspondence; Gaia Maria Rampello in her three installations GREEN SCREEN/AZIONE RURALE, NO PAIN NO GAIN, WOOF/WOOF/LET ME OUT simulates and dissimulates, fragments, constructs and deconstructs, the traditional imagery, the correspondence and congruity of images between the internal and external environment, taking to extremes a strident tension between visual short-circuits and an insistent mechanised sound repetition.
COSMOSIS Volume 3 in the multifarious and discontinuous spatial dilation, traces a figural, visual, liminal re-signification of medial connotations.
