RUFA is proud to announce a prestigious collaboration with Balletto di Roma, a historic company founded in 1960 and a key reference point for contemporary dance in Italy and worldwide.
This synergy will offer RUFA students of Film Arts an extraordinary opportunity: to create a documentary that will follow the emerging Junior Company of the Balletto di Roma behind the scenes of the preparation of a renowned ballet, reinterpreted in a contemporary key, under the prestigious direction of choreographer Fabrizio Monteverde.
The documentary will take the audience through the entire creative process, from the initial auditions to the final performance, revealing the work, dedication, and passion that drive every stage of the production while exploring important themes, including how new generations perceive the world and themselves.
The young filmmakers will work under the guidance of director Caterina Crescini, a RUFA Alumna and PhD Candidate, who is developing this documentary as part of her PhD in Film Technology and New Media, a research program offered by RUFA in collaboration with Roma Tre University. This initiative represents a unique opportunity for RUFA students to immerse themselves in the professional dance world and narrate it through the cinematic language, contributing to the dissemination of the expressive power of body and movement.
This ambitious project is made possible thanks to the coordination of the President of Balletto di Roma, Luciano Carratoni, the Coordinator of the Department of Design and Applied Arts at RUFA, Francesca Gollo, and the Coordinator of Film Arts, Livia Barbieri.
The documentary will capture every phase of this extraordinary creative journey. Follow the updates on our website and RUFA’s social media channels to get an exclusive preview of the final work and immerse yourself in the intersection of cinema and dance.
