Ambientale Art Festival

Ambientale Art Festival – October 26, 2024
Location: Caffarella Park, Rome.

On October 26, 2024, the historic Caffarella Park was transformed into a vibrant open-air art festival curated by emerging artists from RUFA.
In collaboration with Roma Capitale, R5 Living, and with the support of NATIVA, this unique event offered the public the chance to explore contemporary art in a stunning natural setting. The Ambientale Art Festival pushes the boundaries of traditional gallery spaces by creating a deeper connection between art and the environment, while encouraging the community to engage with their surroundings.

The festival featured a variety of artworks inspired by two themes: ‘Lost and Found’ and ‘Fall in Camouflage’. Each artist has created works that consider the ecological impact of their materials, carefully designed to interact with the natural spaces of Caffarella Park. The exhibition reflects a strong commitment to environmental consciousness, with a focus on sustainable practices. This thoughtful approach enhances the visitor experience while inspiring the community to adopt more eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.

Festival Themes:

Lost and Found: This theme explores the constant interplay between loss, rediscovery, and transformation. In our fast-paced world, we often feel disconnected from ourselves, our surroundings, and nature. The artists will use found and discarded objects to create new meanings, emphasizing the personal growth that can arise from such interactions.

Fall in Camouflage: This theme invites participants to reflect on the parts of themselves that they hide in order to blend in with society. The artworks explore themes of identity, self-concealment, and how we interact with the natural world. The concept of camouflage is used as a metaphor for survival and transformation.
All the artworks reflect a deep respect for the environment, contributing to the festival’s mission of sustainability. The festival is designed to leave no trace behind, with all installations carefully removed at the end of the day to preserve the park’s natural beauty.
