RUFA Graduates Finalists in the “Documentare i Diritti” Competition

RUFA graduates Sara Hourngir and Giorgia Cappello have been selected among the ten finalists of the “Documentare i Diritti” competition, organized by the Rome International Documentary Festival. The project is sponsored by DAMS – Roma Tre University, Amnesty International, and RUFA.

The “Documentare i Diritti” competition featured a contest aimed at young people aged 18 to 24 for writing documentary film scripts inspired by the Charter of Human Rights. On November 4th, 5th, and 6th, three free Masterclasses open to the public will be held at the DAMS classrooms of Roma Tre University, focusing on the ethics of documentary filmmaking and the theme of human rights violations.

Join us for the final event on Thursday, November 7th, from 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM at the Teatro Palladium in Rome. The day will start with the pitches of the 10 selected projects – including those by RUFA graduates Sara Hourngir and Giorgia Cappello – in front of a panel of producers and human rights experts.

At 7:00 PM, there will be a welcome toast, followed by the awards ceremony, and the evening will conclude at 8:00 PM with the screening of the film 20 Days in Mariupol, winner of the 2024 Oscar for Best Documentary, by Ukrainian director and journalist Mstyslav Chernov.

Before the screening, there will be opening remarks and speeches from guests Riccardo Noury (Amnesty International Italy), Andrea Lucchetta (TG1 journalist), and Maya Vetri (Municipality 8 Culture Councilor).

Documentare i Diritti is an educational project of the Rome International Documentary Festival, carried out with the support of the Presidency of the Capitoline Assembly, sponsored by DAMS – Roma Tre University, and in collaboration with Amnesty International and RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts.
