Design Talks: a full day dedicated to Graphic Design
RUFA is proud to participate in the 2024 edition of the Romaeuropa Festival within the Design Talks series, curated by Stefano Cipolla, RUFA professor and Art Director of L’Espresso. The event will take place on Sunday, September 29, at La Pelanda, Mattatoio Testaccio, offering a full, free day dedicated to the languages and new trends in graphic design.
The day will kick off at 11:30 with THESIS PROJECTS, a session dedicated to the best emerging talents from Rome’s top design schools (RUFA, IED, ISIA, and NABA). Representing RUFA will be Francesco Paolo Incantalupo, a graduate in Visual and Innovation Design in the 2022-2023 academic year, who will present his outstanding project “An Info-Graphic Journey“. Francesco’s work will be introduced by the renowned designer and RUFA professor Emanuele Cappelli.

In the afternoon, starting at 3:00 PM, the panel Immagini contemporanee will feature three young design talents who will explore different visions of contemporary graphics: Giulia Boccarossa (art direction and publishing), Valerio Di Mario (motion design), and Raissa Pardini (type and visual design).
At 4:30 PM, the talk Progetto quindi sono will be delivered by Maestro Leonardo Sonnoli, one of the most renowned Italian graphic designers, known for his work with institutions such as the Venice Biennale and the Centre Pompidou. The talk will provide a valuable opportunity to explore the challenges and opportunities of contemporary design.
In addition to the panels and talks, the event will include several complementary activities: Workshops for children: Piccoli rilegatori in erba and Che typo sei? by VARSI with SHE.LAB and Betterpress Lab. Paper Market: an independent publishing fair, open throughout the day at the Galleria delle Vasche. Site-specific installations curated by Numero Cromatico, enriching the exhibition spaces. Listening session at the Temporary Music Bar from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, a high-definition audio experience curated by Fischio and Thuono. Admission to the event is free and offers a unique opportunity for students, professionals, and design enthusiasts to discover new perspectives and engage with some of the leading figures in the graphic design scene.
