RUFA is pleased to announce the 2024 edition RUFA ON SCREEN, a biennial film festival aimed at enhancing and supporting the talent of the Academy students enrolled in the Cinema, Film Arts and Computer Animation and Visual Effects courses.
11-12-13 March 2024 – Cinema Troisi, via Girolamo Induno 1.
RUFA ON SCREEN will be an occasion to allow the projection on the big screen of audiovisual works realised by RUFA students and graduates, to give them visibility, and to create a direct contact with the film market through opportunities of confrontation with professionals of the sector, production, distribution and promotion companies.
The festival will be held in Rome from 11 to 13 March 2024 at the Cinema Troisi, Via Girolamo Induno 1, and the screenings will also be open to the general public.
Any participant who meets the requirements of Article 2 of the call for applications, whether student or alumnus, may submit one or more audiovisual works falling into the following categories:
– Super short films (fiction or experimental) – running time 3 minutes max;
– Short films (fiction or experimental) – running time 3 to 15 minutes;
– Animation short films – free running time*;
– Documentary – maximum running time 75 minutes including titles*;
The selected works will be submitted to a Jury of Merit, which will be in charge of evaluating the submitted works and awarding, at its sole discretion, the prizes foreseen for works characterised by innovation and creative originality.
PRIZES
RUFA ON SCREEN 2024 will award the following prizes:
Official Awards
1) Best Short Film
2) Best Animation Feature
3) Best Documentary Film
The three official prizes consist of three distribution contracts – one for each prize category – for a minimum duration of one year aimed at entering the works in national and international festivals.
Special Promotion Award
Rai Cinema Channel, media partner of RUFA ON SCREEN 2024, will award a prize to support the promotion and communication of the selected work on its channels.
Audience Award
The audience award will be determined by the votes obtained by the individual works at the end of the screenings.
There is the possibility for RUFA ON SCREEN 2024 partner companies and organisations to award further prizes (in terms of distribution, promotion, etc.) to works deemed particularly deserving.
TO PARTICIPATE
Eligible students and Alumni will receive an invitation e-mail from the RUFA Contest platform in the next few days, through which they will be able to register for the event from 1 November 2023 until 10 December 2023 [extension: you can now submit your project until 10 December 2023].
Applicants must digitally submit the materials requested in the notice by 10 December 2023 at the latest.
