The visit of HNU – Hainan Normal University to RUFA marks the continuation of relations between the two institutions.
RUFA Director Fabio Mongelli welcomed the delegation led by Wang Yu, Vice President of HNU – Hainan Normal University.
On 12th October 2023 the group of 6 delegates form HNU paid a visit to the new RUFA campus in Via Libetta, while the entire area is going to be delivered in time for the incoming academic year, being almost completed the renovation works. Then they visited the RUFA campus in Via degli Ausoni and they had the chance to walk through the exhibition of the projects developed by the students of MA of Visual and Innovation Design in collaboration with the School of Visual Arts – New York.
The day after the delegation meet the RUFA Director Fabio Mongelli at the campus in Via Benaco, and they discussed about the 3 + 1 double degree project started a month ago in HNU in Haikou with 53 freshman students.
HNU is a comprehensive university of 23,000 students and 5 PhDs, whose Faculty of Design developed a double degree course in Design in collaboration with RUFA.
The V.P. Wang Yu commented how the students are eager to continue their study experience in Rome once they have completed the first 3 years in Haikou, China, and how they will be inspired by RUFA study environment. From the HNU’s side every effort will be made to ensure that the students will reach the required level to be admitted to the RUFA courses and complete their education in Rome, thus achieving the double degree.
Finally, the group completed the tour in Milan, in via Bodio, where RUFA has just opened a new campus sharing the facilities with SPD – Scuola Politecnica di Design and Saint Louis Music College, two other schools affiliated to Plena Education, the Italian network of excellence in higher education in the areas of art, design, fashion, music, language and interpreting.
During the Milanese visit the HNU delegates and the representatives of RUFA and Plena Education discussed about a collaboration for the participation to the Milan Design Week 2024 and next editions.
