The 2023 edition of the Painting and Music Prize is on the theme: ‘The Light of Life Beyond Abandonment’.
The award is intended for students at the Fine Arts Academies and Music Conservatories who come together, dictated by a common inspiration, in the realisation of pictorial works and musical compositions, in a synaesthetic unicum of figures, colours and sounds. The proposed works will be assessed by a panel of experts chaired by Ugo Nespolo and Giulio Castagnoli.
As a prize, the Association offers the winners the opportunity to spend an artistic stay, immersed in nature and far away from everyday places, spending hours of creative production, in which the musicians will interact with fellow painters, in the evocative setting of the former stables of the Association’s summer headquarters, at the Masseria Le Specchie in Ceglie Messapica (BR).
A period of artistic confrontation that also aims to expand the knowledge of contemporary art and music in the country, also through a series of events for the presentation and subsequent sale of the works realised.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the works made is donated each year to an association selected from among those that distinguish themselves in the care and assistance of children in difficulty all over the world. Participation in the Prize is free of charge.
The award, sponsored by the Regione Piemonte, the Metropolitan City of Turin and Municipality of Ceglie Messapica and realised in collaboration with Liceo Artistico “A. Passoni” of Turin, aimed at supporting Progetto Sorriso Crèche ONLUS, an orphanage operating in Bethlehem, Palestine, and the Francesca Diletta Gobbi Association, which will receive the proceeds from the sale of the works created.
