Monday 27 June saw the conclusion of the 3 greenest days of the year with the Sustainable Fashion Convention.
From 25 to 27 June, the greenest event of the year took place in Naples at Castel Dell’Ovo as part of the “Mediterraneo Wine&Food and Travel”, with 3 days of exhibitions that saw a large number of visitors and the presence of various authorities not only from the fashion sector.
Demonstrating that sustainable fashion can be the right way forward for the future of this sector was the main objective of its creator, Fashion Producer Elsy Aparicio, Director of Green Carpet Fashion Week – GCFW.
The AgriCouture ‘Cultivating Fashion’ competition, an integral part of the 26 June evening, saw the 4 finalists on the catwalk with their creations, all made with eco-friendly materials. The finalists were judged and evaluated by a panel of experts, chaired by National Manager of CNA FEDERMODA Antonio Franceschini, including RUFA Director Fabio Mongelli, Diego Puricelli Guerra, Headmaster of the Bernini De Sanctis High School in Naples, and Giada Falcone of the Moema Academy and South Italy Fashion Week in Calabria.
The jury, after a tight head-to-head contest, decreed as the winner of this first edition the young emerging Roman Fashion Designer Valentina Famularo, who with her accessories won over not only the jury, but also the audience present on the terrace of the Cannons of the Castle.
Also speaking at the event was RUFA Sustainable Fashion Design coordinator Guenda Cermel, who emphasised how training plays a fundamental and decisive role in this revolutionary change in fashion, “sustainability must be taught, it must be lived, applied consciously for the good of all, which is why it is important to give young people a solid foundation, and we will do so with our RUFA “Sustainable Fashion Design” course.
