After the success of the 2021 edition, the Fine Arts masterclass “Sacralità/Sacro – Collaborative site-specific installation” is back.
From 4 to 12 April the Fine Arts masterclass curated by Umberto Giovannini was held again, during which students worked on the realisation of a collective “site specific” project. The aim of the masterclass was to investigate the concept of “sacred” and “sacredness”, and to reinterpret it through the experience of contemporaneity. We will then proceed on a path of iconographic and spatial investigation in a psycho-geographic vision, with which we will enter into the dynamics of space. The work was realized through the xylographic multiple and the installation was placed inside the RUFA Space, the space of the soul, at RUFA Pastificio Cerere and in the heart of San Lorenzo district.
Umberto Giovannini
Full Professor of Art & Design at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
After a three-year degree in Graphic Communication Design and a degree in History of Art, he began working as a graphic designer and engraver. His etchings, installations and artist’s books are exhibited internationally. In 2009 he founded the international centre for environmentally friendly graphic design Opificio della Rosa. He is president of Renate Herold Czaschka, a foundation dedicated to graphic art.
