RUFA students are invited to participate in the seventh edition of the Gabbioneta 2022 International Sculpture Award. The competition born in 2016 has had the opportunity to make itself known and appreciated by the art world, for the continuity and coherence of its aims: to support new generations of sculptors and at the same time pass on the history and identity of a historic Italian company. The first novelty of this year is the request for an art work to be placed outside the company, in an area of almost 5 square meters, in front of the main entrance, which will therefore welcome customers and visitors.
The prize for the realization of the sculpture is 10,000.00 euros (plus VAT).
As every year, the work must include the inclusion of a mechanical piece (in original) produced by Gabbioneta and chosen by the Jury, composed of the curator Angela Madesani and Maria Fratelli, Nada Pivetta, Roberto Rocchi, Giovanna Sereni and Giorgio Tomasi .
Delivery must take place no later than May 15, 2022.
The artist will be able to choose between two particularly stimulating proposals in carbon steel. Two examples of pump body weighing 59 kg (each) and two support brackets (finished bearing bracket) of 107 and 127 kg. The award is made in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan and the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara and avails itself of the patronage of the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Milan.
The competition is open to artists under 40 and participation is free.
All the projects will be exhibited at the company’s headquarters in Nova Milanese and in an exhibition in Milan. A small bilingual monograph published by Nomos Edizioni will be dedicated to the winning project, with an interview by Angela Madesani.
