The fourth edition of the Olivetti Design Contest is now underway. A unique initiative dedicated to the designers of the future and signed by Olivetti, which has always promoted the meeting between beauty and innovation.
Olivetti, a historic brand in the field of technological innovation and digital farm of the TIM Group, continues to be consistent with its own philosophical thinking that has characterized its evolution and influenced the development of contemporary technology.
The Olivetti Design Contest 2020/2021, entitled “Type it now!” boasts the participation of the most prestigious Academies of Fine Arts, such as RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, whose students, already in previous editions, have stood out, convincing the judges of the validity of the projects and ideas presented. A return that wants to be the answer to a challenge to live and especially to win. The focus of this year’s edition is the creation of a new typeface called “Olivetti Type”, which will be an integral part of the new corporate image of the historic Italian company. With the contest, Olivetti intends, first of all, to continue the great tradition of collaboration between industry and the world of design.
RUFA students can participate individually or in teams, up to a maximum of five people for each group. The projects submitted will be subjected to an initial evaluation phase by a Commission set up by Olivetti and composed of internal staff and some external professionals, possibly followed by the president of the jury. In the second evaluation phase, the projects will be analyzed by the jury, which will select the three winners as well as assigning any mentions.
Participation in the Contest is free of charge. The consistency of the project with Olivetti’s values will be evaluated. Olivetti’s value system revolves around three fundamental principles: Design, Style, Excellence.
The deadline for the submission of entries, preceded by the sending of some documents clearly specified on the site, is 16th April 2021 to access the first phase of evaluation. The deadline for the final works is 28th May 2021.
