From the idea of Vincenzo Grisia, president of the hotel group “Unicum Group”, was born the project “A stay in art” for young people working in “street art”. The contest, aimed at the students of the Academies of Rome, has as its theme the realization of an artistic project inspired by the great international painters revisited in a “street art” key. The best 3 projects, selected by the architect Fabio Costantino, project leader of the initiative, in addition to winning a cash prize, will see the realization and exhibition of their works within the 3 accommodation facilities of the group located in the center of Rome.
The goal is to reward the best works in the competition not only with a prize money, but also by displaying them in the rooms of the facilities. The creativity, imagination and originality of the artist will welcome the guest in a real widespread museum.
“In a period of international crisis – explained Grisia himself – I wanted to do something concrete to connect young artists, tourism and economy. Tourists will be able to have an immersive experience in expressiveness and young artists will have an opportunity for visibility and a boost for their professional future. Each floor of the structures will be dedicated to an artist, painter, sculptor of the past, each room will therefore be unique. We start from Rome, but we plan to replicate the initiative in 2021 also in other cities like Milan, a square that counts several talents of street art”.
The competition involves the participation of creative artists who have turned 18 years of age. Participants will be able to participate in the competition individually or in groups and will be able to submit from 1 to 3 projects without any theme constraint. The first three classified will be awarded a cash prize of 1,500.00 euros to the first, 1,000.00 euros to the second and 800.00 euros to the third. There will also be a winner who will be paid a daily rent for the exhibited works.
The registration and the sending of the sketches of the works can take place from the 10th September to the 12th November 2020 at the email address info@unicumgroup.com. Competitors will also have the possibility to have all the necessary information by sending an email to archcostantino@yahoo.it. It will also be possible to evaluate the style of the structure in progress, so as to be able to produce works which are in style with the architecture in which they will be inserted.
