“Draw the future. Development, innovation, sustainability, beauty”: this is the theme of the 2020 edition of the Italian Design Day (IDD), the thematic review launched in 2017 by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Farnesina in collaboration and with the support of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.
Compared to the recent past, in order to give continuity to the project, the kermesse takes place in virtual mode, allowing a much wider dissemination of the contents and, above all, a formative and cognitive comparison that will develop in the next months. The aim is clear: to define, in a very clear way, the proactive capacity of Italian design and “Made in Italy”, assuming new scenarios, able to overcome the self-referential rhetoric and keep at the center of the proposals the improvement of life and the protection of the planet. The theme is even more relevant if compared to the context of the health emergency currently underway.
“Italian Design Day – specifies RUFA Director and President of the Coordination of Afam Non-State Institutions (Cians) – includes a rich schedule of promotional events organized by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE Offices abroad and has established itself over the years as an effective tool to support the internationalization of an industrial sector that is strategic and decisive for the Country System. A talent, the result of knowledge and know-how rooted in Italian industrial design, which can be shared in a completely new way. A sign of how much creativity and the need to communicate experiences are able to prevail over every obstacle and barrier, giving reasons for sharing and hope. In this context, the value of Italian training to creative professions becomes decisive: ideas and projects for a sustainable future to meet the needs of fruition of what can be defined as a new national artistic system, now in the materialization phase, projected in giving that vision reported in the European Agenda 2030″.
