Registrations are now open to participate to the TAKEAPIC contest, the free themed photo contest that will take place in Viterbo and its province on Sunday, October 11th from 10 am. The pilot project was born from a double need: to tell the artistic, natural and cultural heritage of Tuscia in Viterbo and to allow a creative re-appropriation of the territory, in total safety, by residents, visitors and tourists.
The competition includes two sections: OPEN and PRO. The OPEN section is divided into three subcategories: Children, Youth and Adults. Participation in this section, after online registration, will be open to all without any pre-selection. The PRO section is aimed at amateurs and experts and provides a pre-selection on the basis of a portfolio required at the time of registration.
The participants in the OPEN section will be able to move throughout the territory of Tuscia Viterbo, those selected for the PRO section will have to take their photos in the historic center of Viterbo. All photos submitted will be published on the TAKEAPIC website and on the social channels of the contest. The prize-giving ceremony of the winners will be held Saturday, October 24th in Viterbo, at the Cultural Center of Valle Faul. There will be awards and prizes in equipment and prints for each category.
All the photos on show will become part of the TAKE-A-PIC 2020 catalog. Also on the occasion of the award ceremony will be held free meetings and seminars on the theme of the story of the territory through photography and audiovisual.
Among the speakers: the photographer Valentina Vannicola, one of the most promising Italian visual artists; the documentary filmmaker Marco Leopardi (director of Boez for Rai 3, and winner of the Nastro d’Argento); Marco Saverio Loperfido (walker, philosopher and writer); Marco Bartolomucci (director and author); Filippo Trojano (photographer, photography teacher, actor and screenwriter).
TAKEAPIC is realized by the association “NOT EQUAL” and the Asperger Film Festival with the contribution of the Lazio Region, the patronage of the City of Viterbo and the support of the Carivit Foundation. For information visit the TAKEAPIC website.
