During this year MAXXI is celebrating the fifth anniversary of the research project “The Independent”, dedicated to the identification and promotion of social spaces aimed at independent thinking. For the occasion, which coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Museum, a summit has been organized to explore the power of friendship, solidarity and alliances.
Bringing together exponents of the art world and not only, the meeting aims to analyze the reasons and means by which art projects and independent spaces create support structures, encourage forms of solidarity and promote alliances to challenge the conventions of cultural legitimacy.
This is an opportunity scheduled at Maxxi between the 24th and 25th of January, open also to the entire RUFA community, with particular attention to the students, who will be able to combine the educational and social aspects.
The initiative is divided into four different chapters, marked by different contents and duration: “Solidarity” and “Interdependent Transformation” are based on the debate, “Movements” proposes performative interventions and “Transforming into a collective body” is a film review.
