A collaboration that is renewed over time and especially in its content. RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts and IILA – International Organization Italo-Latin American, after the extraordinary photographic exhibition that ended last November in the setting of the Museum of Rome in Trastevere, present the catalog of the eleventh edition of the Iila Award for Photography that, this year, addresses the theme of gender equality. A complex and very interesting work that, from theory to practice, has been translated into a book by RUFA Graphic Design student Carlotta Barba.
The publication, in detail, includes the projects of the contest winner Julieta Pestarino (Argentina), together with the shots of Liz Tasa (Peru), Isadora Romero (Ecuador), Jennifer Benavides (El Salvador), Indra Arrez (Mexico), Greta Rico (Mexico). The volume also includes the winner of the tenth edition of the competition Leticia Bernaus (Argentina), with the work done in Rome during the artistic residence, an integral part of the experience.
The work between RUFA and the IILA – PHOTOGRAPHY award represents a synergistic action that fits perfectly into the didactics of art and, more specifically, in the transmission of a universal message that fits into the shot and the instant.
From this point of view, the participants of the kermesse have made a journey into the soul that Carlotta Barba has reported in the becoming of images and words. In this context we cannot but remember how the study paths that RUFA proposes are linked to contemporaneity and freedom of thought.
