RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts students are called on to create two artistic works to be included in the Comune di Sorano (Gr) and in particular in the spaces belonging to the Caseificio di Sorano.
The origin of Sorano dates back to the Etruscans, but already in the fifteenth century the social role played by the guilds of millers makes the prominent role played by agriculture in the local economy. Under the regency of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, Sorano experienced its golden age, with a notable demographic and general economic increase. The Sorano Cheese Factory is a cooperative founded in 1963 by a group of shepherds from the area. Over the years the company has grown exponentially, both in number of members, both in production capacity, becoming a reference point throughout the region for the production of cheese in the Maremma.
The spaces to be regenerated are two: the first is called “facade”, the second “cell” . The presentation of the idea to be realized will be using your A3 size tables .pdf format (one for the facade and one for the cell), accompanied by a descriptive text of up to 1500 characters (including spaces) that expresses both the concept of realization and the needs of a technical nature.
The deadline for the presentation of project proposals is set for 12 noon on Monday, February 3, 2020. Participation can be in a single form or as a group work. The valid proposal will receive a cash prize of 500 euros if submitted individually, 1000 euros if submitted jointly. The Sorano Cheese Factory assures the realization of the work, guaranteeing the coverage of the costs for the technical materials, for the human resources employed, for the board and for the lodging.
