New York, a symbol of political, economic, social and cultural freedom, was for ten days the ideal setting for RUFA students to gather energy and inspiration for their projects.
Thanks to the collaboration of SVA – School of Visual Arts, one of the most prestigious communication schools in the world led by Steven Heller and Lita Talarico, ten RUFA students, coordinated by lecturers Mario Rullo, Emanuele Cappelli and Antonio Pace, have lived an extraordinary experience of human and cultural growth.
The workshop aimed to interpret the theme of Freedom, to represent the electrifying dynamism, the symbolic and creative force of the “City that never sleeps”. The 2019 edition also focused on the concept of “Sense of Difference”, the multiplicity that creates bridges of communication and breaks down the walls of prejudice.
The students of the two-year courses, Benedetta Barone, Sean Patrick Brogan, Arianna Calistri, Federico Leggi, Arianna Rovedi, Nicolò Savi, Marina Sbrana, Silvia Serraiocco and Marco Taurino accepted the invitation to experiment, hybridize and merge the various expressive languages, putting into practice the methodologies cultivated in the teaching of our Academy. The student of the course of Photography, Giovanna Scozzese, documented the experience through the realization of photographs and videos.
On the occasion of the exhibition Tracks of freedom will be presented the design concepts developed in New York, containing various techniques and disciplines of contemporary communication: brand identity, advertising, unconventional, motion graphic, interaction and multimedia design, photography and video.
The ten days of the experience were very intense and rich of stimulus: talks by famous designers, study visits to important professional agencies, visits to museums, galleries and landmarks of New York, moments of fun and entertainment, as well as individual and group work in the classrooms of SVA.
An unforgettable experience and a 360° immersion in communication and design, useful to nourish the look, mind and soul of our young designers.
The exhibition will open on November 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at RUFA Space and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
